Performance by the director Andrey Moguchy, the artistic director of the Bolshoi Drama Theater named after G.A. Tovstonogov (St. Petersburg), multiple winner of the Golden Mask Award, this being the second director's collaboration with the theater. The first one – Circo Ambulante – was released in 2012.
The performance A Tale of the Last Angel is based on the works of Roman Mikhailov and also on the fairy tale of the same name by Alexei Samoryadov. A Tale of the Last Angel is a journey from birth to death (or maybe vice versa) through visions, signs, dreams.
The protagonist named Andrey gets into a psychiatric hospital by sheer chance.
However strange this may seem, it is in this terrible place that he will find true friends for the first time of his life, and will also get a chance to change his life. The protagonist will have to go a long way to reach his dream, to die and resurrect in a new guise.
Andrey Moguchy about work on the performance:
“In the stories by Roman Mikhailov, there is a charge of authenticity and purity. His characters are naive, strange people, "people of mysteries." They share one world with us, but they have their own vision: they can feel and see the world in a different way, openly and for real, as a whole. They can walk on invisible paths between reality and sleep, talk to the sky, hear the voices of grass and wind. And thanks to this ability they can be one with nature, be like children in the true sense, they can change what is commonly called “reality.” They really can save the world with their sincerity and love.”
The story told in our performance takes place in the 90s.
On the one hand, this is a dashing and dark time of changes, loss of all landmarks, a time of devastation, disaster, decline, war.
On the other hand, the 90s have already become a part of Russian folklore, with its typical, absolutely fairy tale characters, plots, mythology.
This is why the theme of Russian fairy tales with their hidden, but very curious overtones also arose in the performance."

Also in the production features Anna Galinova, Danila and Pavel Rassomakhin, Gleb Puskepalis, Pavel Komarov and other actors.
