Julia von Leliwa is a fashion and costume designer.

In recent years Julia has worked under the artistic direction of various artists and fashion designers: with American theatre director Robert Wilson in The Life and Death of Marina Abramovic and Grace for Grace; with the Amsterdam fashion designers Viktor&Rolf; and for the Balenciaga fashion house in Paris. She was artist in residence at the Watermill Center in Long Island (NY, USA), at the Akademie Schloss Solitude, near Stuttgart, and guest artist at the Raketenstation of the Insel Hombroich foundation (Germany).

Julia von Leliwa was the first curator of the artist program Hombroich: Summer Fellows 2012, which has been continued successfully since then. For her research and concepts about artist networks she has been supported by the Goethe Institute and the German Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen. As visiting lecturer she worked at numerous German and Iranian art academies.
