It was the debut novel "Women as Lovers", published in 1975, that attracted public attention to the works of Elfriede Jelinek. Since then, the writer has published seven more books, became the winner of the Nobel Prize. One of her novels is “The Pianist” that was made into a film by director Michael Haneke, the film received the prize of the Cannes Film Festival.
