Two-time winner of the Russian Federation State Prize After graduating from the Slonov Theater School of Saratov in 1986 and the Moscow Art Theatre Studio School in 1990, Mr. Mironov joined Oleg Tabakov's Studio Theatre. There he starred in a number of productions, most notably in The Passions of Bumbarash and Another Van Gogh. As guest star at the Moscow Art Theatre, he took the role of Treplev in The Seagull and appeared as George Pigden in No. 13, the Russian adaptation of Ray Cooney's Out of Order. Mr. Mironov also starred in several legendary productions staged by leading European masters, such as Peter Stein's Oresteia and Hamlet, Declan Donnellan's Boris Godunov, and Eimuntas Nekrosius' The Cherry Orchard. His work in the theatre has brought him the International Stanislavsky Award, two Golden Mask National Awards, and three Crystal Turandot National Awards, among others. Mr. Mironov's spectacular cinematic career has included such internationally acclaimed films as Nikita Mikhalkov's Burned by the Sun and Burned by the Sun 2, Aleksei Uchitel's Dreaming of Space and His Wife's Diary, Andrei Konchalovsky's House of Fools, Aleksandr Mitta's Lost in Siberia and Valery Fokin's Metamorphosis. His lead in the television adaptation of Dostoyevsky's The Idiot garnered him the Golden Nymph Outstanding Actor of the Year Award at the Monte Carlo Film Festival. He is also the recipient of every national film award many times over. In 2006 Mr. Mironov founded the Yevgeny Mironov Theatre Company, producing and playing the title role in Kirill Serebrennikov's production of Beaumarchais' Figaro. As of December 2006 Mr. Mironov is the artistic director of the State Theatre of Nations, where he also stars in Alvis Hermanis' international hit production of Shukshin's Stories and, most recently, Eimuntas Nekrosius' Caligula. He is co-founder of the Artist Support Foundation, the artistic director of the TERRITORIЯ International Theatre Festival, and a member of the Arts and Culture Council at the office of the President of the Russian Federation.
